| La Dogana is a large Florentine
style villa, situated in a rolling heavily wooded
valley on the Tuscan/Umbrian border. The house is
close to several Renaissance towns: Cortona, Citta
di Castello, Castiglion Fiorentino, Arezzo, Gubbio
and Perugia are all within a half to one hour's
drive. The major tourist sites of Tuscany, including
Siena and Florence are easily accessible for day
trips, while Rome and Pisa are 2 - 21/2 hours drive
away.
The house has been fully restored
combining many original features, such as chestnut
and oak beams, stone fireplaces and terracotta
floors, with modern comfort and facilities. Similarly,
furniture and furnishings successfully blend mellow
antiques with the new, creating a snug and stylish

The airports
of Florence (1 1/2 hours) and Bologna Forli (1
3/4 hours) are most convenient and Pisa and Rome
airports are just over two hours away. The drive
from Calais is all motorway and is an easy journey
with one overnight stop.
